In 1994, the government of The Bahamas introduced a National Investment Policy to support an investment-friendly climate and foster economic growth and development of The Bahamas. Following is a list of certain investment areas especially targeted for international investors. However, the list is not exhaustive, and investors interested in areas not included should consult the Bahamas Investment Authority. Joint ventures with Bahamian partners are encouraged, with the choice of partner being at the absolute discretion of the investor.
